Field Trips

As educators, we know that field trips motivate and educate our children. Here at DCLP, we believe in exploration. We strive for a variety of educational experiences to places such as museums, wild life preserves, historic sites, and parks. Field Trips are planned in advance and parents are encourages to participate as chaperones.

Below are a few of our children's favorite places to visit:

  • The CLP Bus

The CLP bus safely transports children using six-point harness seating with high-back, padded seats.

  • Chicago Museum Campus

(Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, Field Museum and Soldier Field) is a fun and exciting trip with many views (cityscape, lake view, architecture, etc.) to take in and quick access to Grant Park.

  • Field Museum

Is an accumulation and dissemination of knowledge, and the preservation and exhibition of artifacts illustrating art, archaeology, science and history.  Children love it because of the vast exhibits to include: Whales, Dinosaurs, Horses, Underground Adventures and Ancient Egypt.

  • Navy Pier

Is home to a variety of fun to include one of the children’s favorite exhibits, the Chicago Children’s Museum.  Navy Pier also features Miniature Golf, Ferris wheel, Carousel, and Build-A-Bear.  In the summer, Navy Pier also features an alternating fountain that the children love to play in and get wet.

  • Lil' Kickers

CLP is proud to be a part of Chicago’s Lil’ Kickers.  Lil' Kickers is a non-competitive introductory soccer and movement skills program offering classes for boys and girls starting at ages

18 months.  The activities take a child-centered approach to sports development.

Downtown Children's Learning Place & Children's Learning Place are licensed child care facilities offering children ages 6 weeks to 6 years a well rounded educational experience. We begin with age appropriate environments that encourage children to learn, play and explore.

We focus on the growth of the mind, spirit and body via music, art, show and tell, circle time, science projects, math, reading, field trips, exercise, dance, tumbling and gymnastics, swimming, pageants, holiday parties, and annual events.
