Bucktown

Ms. Amanda - Director

I am Ms. Amanda – Director of CLP Bucktown! While I joined the Bucktown Family in 2018, I originally joined the CLP family in 2015.

Although born in Mexico, my family moved to Dallas shortly after where I grew up a Texan.  I visited Chicago in 8th grade and said “I’m going to move here one day.” Time went on and I attended Texas Tech University for 4 incredible years to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. After graduation and a summer to remember – I packed up and moved to Wrigleyville knowing NO ONE. I accepted a position as a Lead Infant Teacher at CLP Lakeview, was promoted to Assistant Director, and accepted the Director role in early 2018! I am so fortunate to have a wonderful co-captain, Ms. Tasia, and our blessing to serve 30 beautiful, fabulous, dedicated, staff members – and about 100 little ones (and their families) each day! Although no day looks the same, our commitment remains on providing the best education for your little ones!

In my spare time I stroll the Logan Square Farmer’s Market every Sunday, buy concert tickets day of, scroll Instagram too much, and take red-eye flights for weekend trips across the US!

Ms. Rooha, Director

Hi, Everyone.  My name is Rooha and I moved to Chicago from California in 2022. I received my B.A and B.S in History and Human Development from the University of California, Davis. I earned my Masters in Applied Behavioral Analysis at Northeastern University. I have worked in education in a variety of capacities. I started by working with High School students and assisting them with meeting their immediate post-secondary goals, such as getting into 4-year colleges. I taught kinder and second grade for two years, before switching to the lead teacher position for a toddler/ two classroom.

Working with children has always been a rewarding career for me. I am passionate about providing children with a safe and nourishing environment, and unlocking their full potential. Building on my 8 years of experience in education with 4 of those years in early childhood education, I am looking forward to my opportunities at CLP. In my free time, I love hiking, backpacking and traveling to different National Parks across U.S. I am so excited to meet all the incredible families and meet all the amazing children!
