Bucktown

Ms. Amanda - Head of School

Hi, I am Ms. Amanda, and I’m honored to serve as the Head of School of CLP Bucktown.  My CLP journey began in 2015, and in 2018 I proudly joined the Bucktown family, where I’ve had the privilege of leading alongside our incredible co-captains, Ms. Rooha and Ms. Dana. Together, we support a team of more than 30 passionate educators and welcome over 100 children and families into our program each day. While no two days ever look the same, one thing never changes—our unwavering commitment to providing the very best early education and nurturing environment for every child who walks through our doors.

My story begins in Mexico, where I was born, before my family relocated to Dallas, Texas, where I grew up. In 8th grade, I visited Chicago and told myself, “One day, I’m going to move here.” Years later, after earning my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University, I packed up my life, moved to Wrigleyville—knowing no one—and jumped headfirst into a new adventure.

In 2015, I joined CLP Lakeview as a Lead Infant Teacher, advanced to Director , and by early 2018, proudly stepped into my role as Head of School.  Each of these chapters shaped me into the leader I am today, and I feel fortunate every day to work in a community that inspires me, challenges me, and fills my heart with purpose.

Outside of CLP, I love strolling the Logan Square Farmer’s Market on Sundays, buying concert tickets at the last minute, taking spontaneous red-eye flights across the U.S., and—like many of us—scrolling Instagram a little too much.

I look forward to welcoming you to CLP Bucktown, where our staff’s dedication and our families’ trust create something truly special.

Ms. Dana, Director

Hello Families! My name is Ms. Dana, and I am the Director at Children’s Learning Place Bucktown. I joined the CLP family in 2024, and it has been an absolute joy becoming part of this incredible community!

I am a licensed educator and earned my undergraduate degree in Music Education from Augustana College. Before moving to Chicago, I spent five wonderful years teaching elementary music in Rock Falls, IL. Although music continues to be a big part of my life (I still sing with the Schaumburg Choral Artists!), I discovered that my true passion lies in early childhood education and supporting children during their most important developmental years.

Outside of school, you can usually find me running (I lead a weekly all-girls run club!), doing Pilates, sewing, exploring Chicago’s restaurant scene (always open to recommendations!), attending concerts, or hanging out with my very sweet cat.

I can’t wait to continue getting to know our families and watching your little ones grow, explore, and thrive here at CLP. Thank you for welcoming me into your community—I am honored to be part of your child’s journey!
